Bhakthi Yoga

Bhakti means devotional faith. Bhakti Yoga refers to devoting your whole self to the almighty you believe. Usually this faith is in the God or supreme consciousness you believe in of any form. Maybe it is Lord Rama or Krishna for somebody, or Christ, Mohamed, Buddha etc. or even their Guru for some others.

Important thing is that the person interested in following bhakti yoga should have a very strong emotional bond with the object of faith. The emotional energy thus evolved is directed to this eternal object. Generally, most of the people suppress their emotions and in turn, that often reflects in the form of physical and mental disorders. Bhakti Yoga can help us release those suppressed emotions and bring the ultimate purification of our inner self.

One who relentlessly meditates by keeping that divine object as primary focus, loses his ego, which eventually prevents any distractions, fickleness or even pain and induces strong bonds of love. Slowly the practitioner loses the self identity and becomes one with the object of faith, this is a state of self realization.
